I attended the University of South Carolina, School of Media Arts where I studied audio engineering and photography. During college, I worked professionally in both industries before a career in audio engineering was offered to me that I couldn't pass up. I was fortunate to work alongside some of the best people in that industry for seventeen years before resigning from the company I called home for the first part of my adult years.
Currently, I work at the University of South Carolina and hold several positions. I'm the video production studio and photography studio manager, director of digital sign content, technical producer of "The Crux of the Story" podcast, adjunct instructor - teaching photography, studio lighting, Photoshop and Lightroom.
I have over 6 years of experience teaching photography, Photoshop, Lightroom and studio lighting at the collegiate level and 2 years at the high school level.
I’m always working on my portfolio in preparation to one day, when I make the time, to start graduate courses and earn either my MA or MFA in studio art.
I offer 2 hour, 4 hour and 6 hour photo sessions. Contact me to discuss pricing since each session can differ based on what you want.
I offer private hands-on photography lessons. I teach the fundamentals of photography that will help you switch your camera from auto to manual mode. This basic knowledge allows you to transition from a point & click photographer and approach photography from an artistic view point.
If you are interested in retouching portraits that you shoot or refining your landscape photography, I teach Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop as well.
I will be happy to customize a photo shoot or lesson for you.
I look forward to hearing you!
